NET4SOCIETY - transnational co-operation among National Contact Points for Socio-Economic Sciences and the Humanities

NET4SOCIETY is the international network of National Contact Points for Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in the 7th European Framework Programme (FP7). National Contact Points (NCPs) are set up to guide researchers in their quest for securing EU funding.

This website is aimed at researchers and stakeholders in Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities. It will help you find funding opportunities for your research project and provide you with up-to-date information on the European Commission funding schemes.

NET4SOCIETY is the network of National Contact Points for Socio-Economic Sciences and the Humanities (SSH), and was founded in 2008. We actively support networking in the SSH research community and offer help in every respect of FP7 consultation. NET4SOCIETY includes the European and International National Contact Points of almost 50 countries in 2012.

    Active Ageing - the Potential for Society

    NET4SOCIETY will host a transnational research event, to coincide with the ESOF Dublin City of Science programme. The event will be themed around the 2012 European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations. The event will showcase international SSH research in the area of active ageing and will focus on the human and social aspects of active ageing and its implications for society.

  • Open Letter for a strong European Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities research programme - Invitation to sign!

    In cooperation with other European organisations and networks NET4SOCIETY has launched an open letter addressed to the European Commissioner for Research and Innovation, arguing for the inclusion of a substantial and independent SSH-centered research programme in all future European Framework Programmes.

    Challenge Social Innovation - Innovating Innovation by Research - 100 years after Schumpeter

    Fostering innovation will be the cornerstone of future European research funding policies. The targets set out in the EU2020 strategy demand a broader concept of innovation, including the social dimension in technology and business innovation and implementing a coherent notion of social innovation in all sectors of society. The conference results are now available in the Vienna Declaration, which defines future research topics of social innovation.

  • "SSH experiences with FP7 - a Commentary" published

    In 2010, NET4SOCIETY carried out a survey about the experiences of researchers from the scoio-economic sciences and humanities with FP7. The full results of the survey are now published and have been presented to the European Commission. The results will help to draw up recommendations on how to improve conditions for SSH researchers in FP7 and beyond. A summary of results and the report are available for download.
